Our scouts are back in full swing and getting ready for the County Mountain Challenge on October the 20th.

In our unit, Kilmacud there is 1 Beaver Colony, 2 Cub packs, 1 Scout troop, 1 Venturer group and a Rover group.

Beaver scouts are our youngest members and are from ages of 6 to 8. They meet on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Each week they play games and do arts and crafts. Each month they do a day activity such as go to the cinema, zoo, bowling etc.. They also go camping in the summer time for one night and in June on the national camps organised by Scouting Ireland.

Cub scouts are the next oldest and are ages from 9 to 11. They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays (depending on which troop you join) from 7pm to 8.30pm. They play games each week and an activity such as camping or hostelling once a month.

Scouts are the next group up and are from ages of 12 to 15. They meet on Fridays from 8pm to 10pm. The scouts meet each week and have activities that are based on team building and learning skills needed for camping and the outdoors. They also play games. We as scouts have a very active troop and a proud tradition in the county.
